MAKIN' OUT, MAKIN' PLANS

The show has been extended!!!!! We are now playing in the Best Of Fringe! Woot! This is a great opportunity for my cast and crew, I am so happy for them!

Fringe ended with a bang, literally! I knew I would have a Fringe love sooner or later. It was a fun night, what happens next? He might never call me. Who knows.

It's funny, I have realized how much of a serial monogamist I am. My first instinct when I meet anyone is to hook into it and hold on for the long haul; and I freak out a bit when it is not going anywhere but there. This week Kevin (I don't know how he always knows) pointed out, that I'm not so much in the place to put any time or effort into a long term thing right now anyway, so why don't I just calm down. I would be in an asylum, screaming why won't you lovvveee meeee, if it wasn't for that boy I sware!

Also, made yet another producing connection, with an old friend this time, which is really exciting. I never believed that story that all good ideas get started at a pub over beers, but after this Fringe, I believe it!

As well, I am planning a trip for September, somewhere European, details to follow.

CAREER NEWS? WHAT?

I am not going to write about boys in this post.

So, Expiry Dating is selling out, and we're doing The Best of The Fringe, which is a real honour.

And I think I might be a producer now. Weird. It is always something I have been interested in doing, and have on small projects from time to time.

And then, on the weekend, I think I drunkenly agreed to start a production company with Kevin, which would be awesome! See he has the technical tact I need, and I have the sweet-talking give us money skills he needs. Will we actually do this? Only time will tell.

AND THEN, today at a show, I ran into a guy I know from Harbourfront, and got to chatting, we're going to talk soon about opportunities with his company.

I'm not sure what's happened, but I think I like it.

Somehow I might have a career? That's crazy talk!

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

The Fringe Festival opened last night. I am co-producing a show this year, it's called Expiry Dating and this is a shameless plug. My good friend Alison wrote it, and it won the New Play Contest. It's really adorable, with hot, hot make-outs! We open tomorrow and play throughout the festival.
It is events like this, going to see shows, hanging out at the Beer Tent that make me realize how great our theatre community is. I have been thinking a lot about what I want to do next in my life and have considered leaving theatre all together. It's really hard to get established and even harder to stay established. But when I walked into the Fringe Club and saw so many amazing people and artists, I am reminded that I could never leave for good, I will always need to do theatre in some way. And passion eventually pays out, I have always believed.

So, if you need to find me in the next 9 days, I'll be in a dark theatre or dancing my ass off at the after parties! Woot!
